Fuzhou Airlines to Open Flight Routes to Zhengzhou, Harbin

Fuzhou Airlines announced on Tuesday that it will launch two new air routes in June, one to Zhengzhou in Henan province and the other to Harbin in Heilongjiang province, Southeast Express reports.

The company, the first airline headquartered in the capital of Fujian province, now has five aircraft, all Boeing 737-800, and hopes to have 50 by 2020.

An official with the company said that the company hopes to have a fleet including Boeing 787s and about 20 E190s over the next five years. It will also cooperate with tourism operators and governments to optimize resources and stimulate the tourism market.

The airline has transported some 400,000 people since its inauguration in late October.

It has opened 13 routes to domestic cities including Shanghai, Kunming, Chongqing, and Guiyang. But the Fuzhou-Hefei route may be canceled as the Fuzhou-Hefei high-speed trains go into service.

The company will launch overseas air routes in the next phase, with Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries as priorities, insiders say.
