Shanghai Airport Opens New City Terminal in Haimen

Shanghai Airport Authority opened a new city terminal in Haimen, Jiangsu Province on August 20, thereby starting off the fourth offsite terminal of Shanghai Airport following Wuxi, Kunshan and Taicang Terminals.

In its initial stage, the Haimen city terminal is to be used as an extension service facility for Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. It will provide passengers with check-in services for domestic long-haul flights of China Eastern Airlines (MU), Shanghai Airlines (FM) and China United Airlines (KN).

The new terminal, covering an area of about 1,000 square meters, is situated within the Haimen Economic and Technological Development Zone. Besides, shuttle bus facility will be offered to ferry local citizens directly to Hongqiao airport as well, within 2-hour. The shuttle services will be available between 7:30 am and 3 pm, and be offering four shifts in a day. For passengers who apprehend being late due to traffic can opt for shuttle bus service, MU will endorse the latest flights for them.

As the extension of airport facility, the new city terminal provides more choices and convenience for the local citizens; meanwhile, the new city terminal will enhance the serving capability of Hongqiao airport in northern and mid Jiangsu Province.
