Day 1Arrival/Beijing

Upon your arrival at Beijing's airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore the city.

Day 2Beijing

Sites Visited: The Forbidden City, The Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit The Forbidden City, home to China's Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, you will be driven to The Summer Palace, where you will marvel at the opulence of this imperial summer getaway. You will then be drive to visit The Temple of Heaven, which was where China's Emperors prayed to heaven.

Optional: In the evening you will be mesmerized by a Peking (Beijing) Opera performance in Beijing's famous Liyuan Theatre.
Note: The opera will have English and Japanese subtitles.

The Forbidden City

Day 3Beijing

Sites Visited: The Sacred Road, Badaling Great Wall

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the majestic Great Wall (Badaling Section). After lunch next to the Great Wall you will be driven to visit the Sacred Road, the road leading to the tombs of the Ming Dynasty's Emperors. You will then visit the Ding Tomb, the only excavated imperial Ming Dynasty Tomb.

Optional: In the evening you will be taken to enjoy a Peking (Beijing) Duck Banquet at the oldest and most famous Peking (Beijing) Duck restaurant in China.

The Sacred Road

Day 4Beijing/Xian

Sites Visited: Beijing Hutongs, Ancient City Wall

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be taken on a rickshaw ride through the ancient lanes and alleyways of Beijing's Hutongs. After seeing how local Beijingers have been living for centuries, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Xian, another of China's ancient capitols. Upon arriving in Xian, your local guide will meet you and take you for a bicycle ride along the top of Xian's Ancient City Wall to get a bird's eye view of this amazing ancient city.

Note: If you do not feel like biking, an electric touring car will take you around the top of Xian’s Ancient City Wall.

Beijing Hutongs

Day 5Xian

Sites Visited: Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses , Shaanxi Provincial Museum, Ancient Bell Tower

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors. After lunch you will be driven to the Shaanxi Provincial Museum to see Xian's amazing history. You will then be driven to visit Xian's Ancient Bell Tower, which signaled the time in Xian for centuries.

Optional: In the evening you will be taken to an amazing Jiaozi (Dumpling) Feast followed by the Tang Dynasty Show, which bring the pageantry and music of the ancient Tang Dynasty to life.

Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses

Day 6Xian/Kunming

Meals: B,L

After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Kunming. Upon your arrival in Kunming, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Western Hills. Because of their beauty it is often said that if you haven't been to the Western Hills, you haven't been to Kunming. The beauty of the mountains and the bird's eye views that they offer never fail to take visitor's breaths away.

Day 7Kunming/Guilin

Sites Visited: Stone Forest

In the morning after having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to Kunming's famous Stone Forest, an area of bizarrely shaped rock formations formed by millennia of rain and weather. In the afternoon you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Upon your arrival in Guilin, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel.

Sites Visited: Reed Flute Cave, Fubo Hill, Elephant Trunk Hill

In the morning after having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to Fubo Hill. Located on the Li River, the beautiful karst rock hill is the centerpiece of a small park. You will then be driven to Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin, which offers commanding views of Guilin City and the Li River. After lunch you will be driven to Reed Flute Cave. The cave's many bizarre stalagmites and stalactites make visitors feel like they have stepped into another world.

Day 9Guilin/Yangshuo

Sites Visited: Yangshuo West Street, Li River Cruise

In the morning, after you have had your breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Zhujiang Pier (40 minutes). There you will board your boat for your Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. The scenery along the Li River is often referred to as the most beautiful under heaven. Upon docking in Yangshuo, your guide will escort you to your hotel. After checking in, you will be taken down Yangshuo's famous West Street, known for its shops, bars, and eateries.

Optional: In the evening you will dine on Yangshuo's amazing Li River Beer Fish, followed by the Impressions of Liusanjie (Third Sister Liu) performance. The Performance, created by Zhang Yimou, China's premiere movie director and director of the Beijing Olympics’ Opening Ceremony, is made up of hundreds of people and is performed on the Li River with the mountains as the backdrop. It is an unforgettable experience.

Yangshuo West Street

Day 10Yangshuo/Guilin/Hangzhou

In the morning you will be free until your local guide meets you and you are driven back to Guilin's airport for your flight to Hangzhou. Upon arriving in Hangzhou, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel.

Day 11Hangzhou

Sites Visited: West Lake, Lingyi Temple Feilai Peak, Feilai Peak, 18 Imperial Dragon Well Tea Trees

After arriving in Hangzhou in the early morning, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. You will then be driven to West Lake, the most famous lake in china. You will be enthralled by the many legends that have made this spot one of the most popular destinations for the Chinese people. After visiting the West Lake, you will be driven to Feilai Peak and marvel at its ancient Buddhist rock carvings. You will then go to the Lingyin Temple located behind Feilai Peak. The temple is the largest Buddhist Temple in China and its architecture and gardenlike atmosphere never fails to captivate visitors. You will then visit the 18 Imperial Dragon Well Tea Trees and sip Dragon Well (Longjin) Tea in beautiful traditional pavilions located on the mountainside nestled amongst tea trees.


West Lake

Day 12Hangzhou/Shanghai

Sites Visited: Yuyuan Garden , Yuyuan Market, Shanghai Museum

After breakfast, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to Shanghai. Upon your arrival in Shanghai, you will be driven to the Yuyuan Garden, the only ancient traditional Chinese garden left in Shanghai. You will then stroll through the streets lined with traditional styled architecture of the Yuyuan Market located outside the garden. The market is a favorite with both locals and visitors. You will then be driven to the Shanghai Museum, arguably the most comprehensive museum in China which will let you explore China's colorful history.

Day 13Shanghai

Sites Visited: The Bund Shanghai, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Nanjing Road, Jade Buddha Temple

In the morning after having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Jade Buddha Temple. The temple was built to house two large jade statues of The Buddha. This temple is a favorite with visitors to Shanghai. After visiting the temple, you will be driven to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the symbol of Shanghai. From the tower's observation decks you will get a bird's eye view of Shanghai, the Huangpu River, and The Bund. You will then stroll along The Bund, known as a museum of Western architecture, and the nearby Nanjing Road, the No.1 shopping street in China. These two streets bustle with activity and are a fantastic way to get a feel not only for the history, but also the modern vitality of Shanghai.

Day 14Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai

Sites Visited: Lingering Garden, Grand Canal, No.1 Silk Factory

In the morning after having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to Suzhou (1.5 hour drive). Once in Suzhou you will be taken to the bank for your cruise down the ancient Grand Canal. The cruise is a nice break from walking and your boat will cruise past ancient houses and shops. After your cruise, you will visit one of Suzhou's most famous traditional Chinese gardens, the Lingering Garden. You can stroll through this gorgeous garden while performers play traditional music. You will then visit the No.1 Silk Factory and see the entire process of how silk is produced from silkworm, to finished product. After visiting the silk factory you will be driven back to Shanghai.

On this day you will be free until your guide meets you are driven to the airport for your flight home.

Transportation & Private Transfers:

Transportation cost covers all the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax, train tickets between the cities as the itinerary specified.

 

Transfer between airports, railway station, hotels and scenic spots for sightseeing around the cities that are specified by the itinerary with private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.

 

Entrance Fees:

The final arrangement will be determined by private tour guides depends on the real-time local circumstances wheather are beyond the control of Access China Travel. We will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible. 

 

Normal Meals:

All normal meals as the itinerary specified: B = breakfast, L = Lunch, D = dinner in local  restaurant. Breakfasts are served in hotel, breakfasts have Chinese or Western style for your option; Lunches are served in carefully selected quality local Chinese restaurants with best service, your lunches will be ordered by your guide catering to your preferences within normal standard. Dinners as the itinerary specified will be also served in local Chinese restaurants. The meal quotation is normalized. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, famous rare dishes, Indian food or more, please inform us in advance. For the unspecified dinners, you will have dinner on your own. Feel free to ask your local guide for suggestions or recommendation.

 

Private Sightseeing Escort:

Normal sightseeing activities as the itinerary listed will be escorted with English-speaking guide. The English-speaking guide and driver in each city are with you throughout the entire itinerary around that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.

 

Hotel Accommodation:

Hotel service criterion: two adults share on one standard twin/double-bed room; solo traveler who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room assigned is required for extra single supplement rate. A single room is available on prior request at an additional cost; if a recommended hotel unavailable, it will be replaced by one of the same class. All hotels as the itinerary listed serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
