Jiayuguan
Jiayuguan is a prefecture-level city in northwestern Gansu province, with a population of 231,853 as of 2010. Known as the 'mouth of China' because of its position at the westmost end of the Great Wall of China where it guarded the western boundary of Ming Dynasty China. The narrow river passage heading southeast from here is known as the Hexi Corridor and is nicknamed the 'throat of China'.
The famous Jiayuguan Pass is the largest and most intact pass of the Great Wall of China. In ancient times, many inns were built near the pass. Gradually, more and more people decided to stay there for business and Jiayuguan City was built. At present, Jiayuguan City is not only famous for Jiayuguan Pass but also for Great Wall Museum, Overhanging Great Wall, First Beacon of Great Wall, Ancient Wei Jin Tombs and Gliding Base.

Wei Jin Art Gallery
Situated in the desert 20 km northeast of Jiayuguan city, Wei-Jin Art Gallery is not really an art gallery but ancient tombs with wall paintings. There are more than 1400 tombs, which could date back 220-419 AD during Wei and Jin periods.
Jiayuguan Fort
