Suzhou Museum

The Suzhou Museum, located in China’s Suzhou City, is a museum focusing on the ancient art and paintings of ancient China. The museum’s collections are beautifully exhibited in an area of 2,200 square meters. There are over 15,000 artifacts in the collection, most being ancient paintings and calligraphy. There are also over 70,000 ancient books and over 20,000 stone inscription rubbings. The museum’s architecture is totally unique. Built by architect Leoh Ming Pei, who also created the pyramid in front of the Louvre in Paris, the architecture reflects Suzhou’s traditional architecture style with white walls and grey roofs and beams. The Suzhou Museum’s architecture is a work of art in its own right and adds greatly to the museum’s collections.
