Day 1Arrival in Chengdu

Meet your guide at the airport and then transfer to the hotel. Sichuan cuisine for your welcome dinner.

Day 2Chengdu/Dujiangyan Panda Base

Meals: B,L,D

Drive (about 1.5hrs) to the Dujiangyan Panda Base. After lunch, pay a visit to the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project System. Transfer to the panda base, where you will apply for the necessary permit and sign the agreement to be a panda volunteer. Then you will get the special working clothes, gloves etc. and learn how to be a panda volunteer from your teacher.

Day 3Dujiangyan Panda Base

Meals: B,L,D

Today, you will wear the working clothes and have a happy full-day work in the panda base. Your work schedule will be:

08:30 Clean the panda's house/garden.
10:00 Put the fresh bamboo into the enclosures for the pandas' breakfast.
11:00 Watch the pandas' activity and help the scientists to collect their behavior data.
14:30 Feed the animals with bamboo bread, apples and carrots. Then free the pandas in the enclosure and watch their activity. This time you may help the veterinary to do the medicine care for the pandas.
16:00 End the job.

Day 4Dujiangyan Panda Base/Chengdu

Meals: B,L,D

Full-day work with your teacher in the Panda Base. Return the working clothes and gloves. Enjoy dinner with your teacher and then get a volunteer certificate issued by China Panda Protection and Research Center. In the evening, drive back to hotel in Chengdu .

Day 5Chengdu/Lhasa

Meals: B,L,D

After hotel breakfast, you will take your flight to Lhasa. Your local guide will meet you upon your arrival in Gonggar airport and will escort you to Lhasa. On the 2-hour drive way, you'll enjoy the heart-stopping views along the Yarlong Tsangpo River. After arrival at your hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to explore the local area and acclimatize yourself to this high altitude city at the top of the world.

Day 6Lhasa

Sites Visited: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple

The overwhelming Potala Palace is your first stop. As the symbol of Tibet, it was built in 641 AD and was the winter palace of Dalai Lama who is Tibet's pope. Impressive Tibetan architecture, huge golden Buddha statues, red-robed lamas and devoted pilgrims all make it a must-visit.

In the afternoon, you'll visit the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet. Every day, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek here from long distances to worship. Finally, walk the special circular pilgrimage route as local followers always do at Barkhor Street.

Day 7Lhasa

Sites Visited: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery

After breakfast, you are driven to visit the Drepung Monastery, once the largest Monastery housing 10,000 monks in its heyday. Your tour ends at Sera Monastery, and the 'Buddhism Scriptures Debating' in Sera is very famous. Enjoy the debate!

Day 8Lhasa/Xian

Meals: B

After hotel breakfast, at leisure until transferred to the train station to catch the train to Xian. You can enjoy the beautiful sights along the way. Overnight on the train.

Day 9Lhasa/Xian (on the way)

During daytime you will stay on the train. You will arrive Xian around 21:00. Our guide will meet you at the station with the signboard. Transfer to your hotel to take a rest.

Day 10Xian

Sites Visited: Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses , Ancient City Wall

After hotel breakfast, you will visit the great Terra Cotta Warriors to know the history of the emperors' mausoleums of Chinese ancient Qin Dynasty. These terra cotta armies as the grave goods, they show the magnificent project. After lunch, you will visit the Ancient City Wall which was for defense enemies. At night, you can visit the famous Muslim street where is full of local Muslim food.

Day 11Xian/Beijing

Meals: B
Sites Visited: Ancient Drum Tower, Ancient Bell Tower

Today you will visit the Drum and Bell Tower Square. Then you will take the high speed train to Beijing. Arrive in Beijing, the driver and local tour guide will meet you with the signboard and transfer to your hotel.

Day 12Beijing

Sites Visited: The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Beijing Hutongs

On this day you will first visit Tiananmen Square followed by the magnificent Forbidden City. In the afternoon you will explore Beijing's Hutongs by pedicab and walk along Nanluoguxiang.
Special cultural experience: In the evening you will be taken to enjoy a Peking (Beijing) Duck Banquet at the oldest and most famous Peking (Beijing) Duck restaurant in China.

Sites Visited: The Sacred Road, Mutianyu Great Wall

The magnificent Great Wall, the Eighth Wonder ofthe World, is your first stop today. You will be transferred to the Mutianyu Great Wall section,an intact and less touristic part of the Great Wall. Walking along thesevenerable ramparts provides you a chance to step back in history. In the afternoon, you will take a leisurely stroll on the Sacred Road and visit Jade Gallery, a royal pathreputed for its vivid statues and beautiful scenery.

Sites Visited: Temple of Heaven

After breakfast, you will visit Beijing's spectacular Temple of Heaven and enjoy watching the locals doing their morning exercises before being escorted to the airport for your flight to your next destination.

Transportation & Private Transfers:

Transportation cost covers all the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax, train tickets between the cities as the itinerary specified.


Transfer between airports, railway station, hotels and scenic spots for sightseeing around the cities that are specified by the itinerary with private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.


Entrance Fees:

All entrance fees to the scenic spots listed in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by private tour guides depends on the real-time local circumstances wheather are beyond the control of Access China Travel. We will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible. 


Normal Meals:

All normal meals as the itinerary specified: B = breakfast, L = Lunch, D = dinner in local  restaurant. Breakfasts are served in hotel, breakfasts have Chinese or Western style for your option; Lunches are served in carefully selected quality local Chinese restaurants with best service, your lunches will be ordered by your guide catering to your preferences within normal standard. Dinners as the itinerary specified will be also served in local Chinese restaurants. The meal quotation is normalized. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, famous rare dishes, Indian food or more, please inform us in advance. For the unspecified dinners, you will have dinner on your own. Feel free to ask your local guide for suggestions or recommendation.


Private Sightseeing Escort:

Normal sightseeing activities as the itinerary listed will be escorted with English-speaking guide. The English-speaking guide and driver in each city are with you throughout the entire itinerary around that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.


Hotel Accommodation:

Hotel service criterion: two adults share on one standard twin/double-bed room; solo traveler who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room assigned is required for extra single supplement rate. A single room is available on prior request at an additional cost; if a recommended hotel unavailable, it will be replaced by one of the same class. All hotels as the itinerary listed serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.


Tour Arrangements:

The tour cost includes the planning, handling, booking, operation and communication charges.

Price Excludes:

International airfare or train tickets for entry or exit China, unless that is noted or required otherwise.
Visa Fees, passport application or renewal fee.

Expenses of a purely personal nature such as excess luggage fees, laundry, drinks, fax, telephone call, optional activities (shows) and meals, beverages...



Any meal are not specified in the itinerary with "B", "L" or "D".


Any extra cost caused by the changes of natural disasters, fires, weather, government and local authority orders, politics, strikes, war, riots, quarantine, custom regulations; as well as tourist law violation, accident damages or injury incurred out of Access China Travel control.
