Day 1Arrival/Beijing

Upon your arrival at Beijing’s airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore the city.

Day 2Beijing

Sites Visited: The Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit The Forbidden City, home to China’s Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, you will be driven to The Summer Palace, where you will marvel at the opulence of this imperial summer getaway. You will then be driven to visit The Temple of Heaven, which was where China's Emperors prayed to heaven for good harvests for the country.

Optional: In the evening you will be taken to enjoy a Peking (Beijing) Duck Banquet at the oldest and most famous Peking (Beijing) Duck restaurant in China.


The Forbidden City

Day 3Beijing

Sites Visited: Simatai Great Wall, Jinshanling Great Wall

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the majestic Great Wall (Simatai Section). You will hike from the Simatai Section to the Jinshanling Section of the Great Wall. You will hike 5 to 6 hours. These two sections remain unrestored, offering incredible rustic views. It is a unique experience.

Day 4Beijing/Kunming

Sites Visited: Beijing Hutongs

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be taken on a rickshaw ride through the ancient lanes and alleyways of some of Beijing's Hutongs. After seeing how local Beijingers have been living for centuries, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Kunming. Upon arriving in Kunming, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into the city for an adventure on your own.

Sites Visited: Stone Forest

In the morning after you have had breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Stone Forest. The forest is an area filled with bizarre rock formations which appear like a large forest made entirely of stone. It was created over millennia of wind, rain, and weather.

Day 6Kunming/Lijiang/Qiaotou

After you have had breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Lijiang. When you arrive in Lijiang, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to Qiaotou. On the way you will visit the ancient town of Shigu to visit the First Bend of the Yangtze River. The views are spectacular.

Day 7Qiaotou/Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge

Sites Visited: Tiger Leaping Gorge

In the morning after breakfast your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge. When you arrive at the gorge, you will descend down the more than 400 steps to get to the bottom of the gorge. You will then hike along the High Trail from the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, along the gorges’ 28 bends until you get to the Halfway House Guest House. This will take 5 to 6 hours.

Note: Due to the fact that there are no roads leading to the Halfway House, all of your luggage will be brought ahead to Tina’s Guesthouse and will be safely waiting for your arrival the next day


Tiger Leaping Gorge

Day 8Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge/Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge

Meals: B,L

After you have had your breakfast, you will continue hiking. You will hike to the middle Tiger Leaping Gorge, and Tina's Guesthouse. This day’s hike will take 5 to 6 hours.

Day 9Hetaoyuan/Daju/Lijiang

Meals: B,L

n the morning, you will hike from Hetaoyuan to Daju. You will begin by hiking along the Yangtze River before hiking down a small trail to the bank of the river where you will take a ferry to cross the river. You will continue hiking up a small trail until you reach the parking lot where your driver will be waiting. You will then be driven back to Lijiang. The day's hike will take approximately 5 to 6 hours.

Day 10Lijiang/Shanghai

Sites Visited: Lijiang Old City

In the morning you will explore the Lijiang Ancient Town. This beautiful ancient town has remained beautifully preserved and offers a glimpse into the colorful cultures and traditions of the local Naxi Dongba Ethnic Minority Group. You will then be driven to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. When you arrive in Shanghai, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel.

Optional: In the evening you will have a traditional Shanghai Dim-sum Dinner followed by the edge of your seat excitement of a Chinese Acrobatics show.


Lijiang Old City

Day 11Shanghai

Sites Visited: Yuyuan Garden , Yuyuan Market, The Bund Shanghai, Nanjing Road

After breakfast, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Yuyuan Garden, the only ancient traditional Chinese garden left in Shanghai. You will then stroll through the Yuyuan Market where the streets are lined with traditional styled architecture and get a glimpse into the locals’lifestyle. After visiting the market, you will stroll along The Bund, known as a museum of Western architecture, and the nearby Nanjing Road, the No.1 shopping street in China. You will then be driven to the Shanghai Museum, arguably the most comprehensive museum in China which will let you explore China's amazing and colorful history.


Yuyuan Garden

Day 12Shanghai/Departure

On this day you will be free until your local guide meets you and you are driven to the airport for your flight home.

Transportation & Private Transfers:

Transportation cost covers all the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax, train tickets between the cities as the itinerary specified.

 

Transfer between airports, railway station, hotels and scenic spots for sightseeing around the cities that are specified by the itinerary with private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.

 

Entrance Fees:

All entrance fees to the scenic spots listed in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by private tour guides depends on the real-time local circumstances wheather are beyond the control of Access China Travel. We will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible. 

 

Normal Meals:

All normal meals as the itinerary specified: B = breakfast, L = Lunch, D = dinner in local  restaurant. Breakfasts are served in hotel, breakfasts have Chinese or Western style for your option; Lunches are served in carefully selected quality local Chinese restaurants with best service, your lunches will be ordered by your guide catering to your preferences within normal standard. Dinners as the itinerary specified will be also served in local Chinese restaurants. The meal quotation is normalized. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, famous rare dishes, Indian food or more, please inform us in advance. For the unspecified dinners, you will have dinner on your own. Feel free to ask your local guide for suggestions or recommendation.

 

Private Sightseeing Escort:

Normal sightseeing activities as the itinerary listed will be escorted with English-speaking guide. The English-speaking guide and driver in each city are with you throughout the entire itinerary around that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.

 

Hotel Accommodation:

Hotel service criterion: two adults share on one standard twin/double-bed room; solo traveler who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room assigned is required for extra single supplement rate. A single room is available on prior request at an additional cost; if a recommended hotel unavailable, it will be replaced by one of the same class. All hotels as the itinerary listed serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.

 

Tour Arrangements:

The tour cost includes the planning, handling, booking, operation and communication charges.
