Day 1Arrival/Beijing

Upon your arrival at Beijing's airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore the city.

Day 2Beijing

Meals: B,L

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Forbidden City, home to China's Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, you will be driven to the exquisite Summer Palace, where you will marvel at the opulence of this imperial summer getaway.

Optional: In the evening you will be mesmerized by a Peking (Beijing) Opera performance in Beijing's famous Liyuan Theatre.
Note: The opera will have English and Japanese subtitles.

Day 3Beijing

Sites Visited: The Sacred Road, Badaling Great Wall

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the majestic Great Wall (Badaling Section). After lunch next to the Great Wall you will be driven to visit the Sacred Road, the road leading to the tombs of the Ming Dynasty's Emperors. You will then visit the Ding Tomb, the only excavated imperial Ming Dynasty Tomb.

Optional: In the evening you will be taken to enjoy a Peking (Beijing) Duck Banquet at the oldest and most famous Peking (Beijing) Duck restaurant in China.

Sites Visited: Temple of Heaven, 2008 Beijing Olympics' Venues

In the morning after you have had breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Temple of Heaven. The huge complex is famous throughout the world for its stunning architecture, and beautiful park-like atmosphere. After lunch, you will be driven to visit the 2008 Beijing Olympics’ Venues. The highlight is the Water Cube and the Bird's Nest Stadiums.

Sites Visited: Beihai Park, Yonghe Lamasery

After you have had breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to Beihai Park. The park was originally the private gardens of the Emperor. Its stunning gardens and amazing architecture are topped off by a giant stupa located on the top of the hill in the center of the park. After visiting the park, you will be driven to the Yonghe Lamasery. The Lamasery was originally the palace of the crown prince who became Emperor Yongzheng. The Lamasery combines imperial and Buddhist architecture and is filled with priceless treasures.


Beihai Park

Day 6Beijing/Shanghai

Sites Visited: Beijing Hutongs

In the morning after having had breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit some of Beijing's Hutongs by pedi-cab. The Hutongs are mazes of alleyways and beautiful courtyard homes. They were where Beijingers lived and worked for centuries. It is a great glimpse into Beijing local's lives. After visiting the Hutongs you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arriving in Shanghai, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or step out into Shanghai for an adventure on your own.

Day 7Shanghai

Sites Visited: Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Shanghai Museum, Oriental Pearl TV Tower

After having had your breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. The hall is a fantastic first site for any visit to Shanghai. It will show you the past, present and future of Shanghai by using photos and models. It will give you a fantastic perspective of Shanghai and will help you appreciate your visit even more. After visiting the hall, you will be driven to the Shanghai Museum. Arguably one of the best museums in China, the Shanghai Museum has 5 floors filled with incredible artifacts highlighting China's history and culture. You will then be driven to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the symbol of Shanghai. From its observation areas, you will get a bird’s eye view of Shanghai, the Bund, and the Huangpu River.

Optional: In the evening you will experience the edge of your seat excitement of Chinese acrobatics by the foremost acrobatic troupes in China.

Day 8Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai

Sites Visited: No.1 Silk Factory, The Pan Gate, Humble Administrator Garden

In the morning, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to Suzhou. In Suzhou, you will first visit the Pan Gate, the only surviving water/land gate in China. Originally part of Suzhou's city wall, the gate is located in the center of an incredible area filled with gardens, traditional pavilions, and koi filled ponds. After visiting the gate, you will be driven to the No.1 Silk Factory, where you will learn how the humble silk worm’s cocoon is transformed into the shimmering fabric known around the world. After visiting the silk factory, you will be driven to the Humble Administrator's Garden. One of the most famous gardens in China, the garden is filled with incredible architecture, rockeries, and ponds. It is an unforgettable experience. After visiting the garden, you will be driven back to Shanghai.


No.1 Silk Factory

Day 9Shanghai

Sites Visited: Yuyuan Garden , Yuyuan Market, The Bund Shanghai, Nanjing Road

After you have had your breakfast, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the spectacular ancient Yuyuan Garden, the only surviving ancient garden in Shanghai. After strolling through the amazing garden, you will visit the Yuyuan Market located outside. The market is a great place to see how locals live and shop. You will then be driven to The Bund. Known as a ‘museum of western architecture’, The Bund was Shanghai's financial district. Its buildings were designed and built by western architects, using western construction methods. After visiting The Bund, you will visit Nanjing Road. Known as China's No.1 shopping street, the road is lined with name brand boutiques and shops selling everything from high end fashion, to traditional Chinese art.

Day 10Shanghai/Departure

On this day you will be free until your local guide meets you and you are driven to the airport for your flight home.

Transportation & Private Transfers:

Transportation cost covers all the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax, train tickets between the cities as the itinerary specified.

 

Transfer between airports, railway station, hotels and scenic spots for sightseeing around the cities that are specified by the itinerary with private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.

We will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible. 

 

Normal Meals:

All normal meals as the itinerary specified: B = breakfast, L = Lunch, D = dinner in local  restaurant. Breakfasts are served in hotel, breakfasts have Chinese or Western style for your option; Lunches are served in carefully selected quality local Chinese restaurants with best service, your lunches will be ordered by your guide catering to your preferences within normal standard. Dinners as the itinerary specified will be also served in local Chinese restaurants. The meal quotation is normalized. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, famous rare dishes, Indian food or more, please inform us in advance. For the unspecified dinners, you will have dinner on your own. Feel free to ask your local guide for suggestions or recommendation.

 

Private Sightseeing Escort:

Normal sightseeing activities as the itinerary listed will be escorted with English-speaking guide. The English-speaking guide and driver in each city are with you throughout the entire itinerary around that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.

 

Hotel Accommodation:

Hotel service criterion: two adults share on one standard twin/double-bed room; solo traveler who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room assigned is required for extra single supplement rate. A single room is available on prior request at an additional cost; if a recommended hotel unavailable, it will be replaced by one of the same class. All hotels as the itinerary listed serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
