Day 1Arrival/Lhasa

Upon arriving in Lhasa, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven by private vehicle to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to rest and acclimate yourself to the high altitude.

Day 2Lhasa

Sites Visited: Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street

After having breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Jokhang Temple, one of the most important and beautiful Buddhist Temples in Tibet. You will then visit Barkhor Street, which is a circular street surrounding the Jokhang Temple. The street is lined with shops selling unique Tibetan items. On the street you will mingle with Buddhist pilgrims, locals, and merchants. After visiting Barkhor Street, you will visit the A’ni Cang Gu Nunnery.

Day 3Lhasa

Sites Visited: Tibet Museum, Potala Palace, Norbulingka

In the morning, after having breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Potala Palace. As the symbol of Tibet, it was built in 641 AD and was the winter palace of Dalai Lama who is Tibet's pope. Impressive Tibetan architecture, huge golden Buddha statues, red-robed lamas and devoted pilgrims all make it a must-visit. You will then be driven to Norbulingka, the old summer palace of the Dalai Lama. When you are finished visiting, you will then be driven to the Tibet Museum. The museum, which opened in 1999 exhibits an incredible collection of artifacts showing Tibet’s history, culture, and folk customs.

Day 4Lhasa/Gyantse/Shigatse

Sites Visited: Yamdrok Lake

In the morning, after you have had breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to Yamdrok Lake. Shaped like a scorpion, the lake is one of the four holiest lakes for Tibetans and is a fabulous shade of turquoise. It is surrounded by grassland and is an extremely peaceful and beautiful place. You will then be driven to Shigatse. On the way you will stop to view the Karo-la Glacier. You will then be driven to the Gyantse Kumbum, It is a stunning stupa covered with beautiful paintings. You will then be driven to the Gyantse Dzong, one of the best preserved fortresses in Tibet. It is perched on a mountain high above Gyantse.

Day 5Shigatse (Dingri)/Shegar

After having had your breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to Tashilhunpo Monastery. It was founded by the first Dalai Lama and rebuilt several times. Located on a hill, this impressive complex never fails to impress.

Day 6Shegar (Dingri)/Zhangmu

After you have had your breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to Zhangmu. Upon arriving in Zhangmu, you will explore the city.

Day 7Zhangmu/Kathmandu

In the morning, after having had breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the China-Nepal border through Kodary (Friendship Bridge). Then you will cross into Kathmandu. Once you get through customs, our Kathmandu local guide will meet you and escorts to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax.

Day 8Kathmandu

After having breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to Kathmandu Durbar Square. One of Kathmandu’s royal palace squares, the Durbar Square is the site of the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex, the royal Nepal residence until the 19th century. You will then visit the Swyambhunath Stupa. One of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal, the stupa is amazing. You will see pilgrims, monks, and scores of monkeys, which gave the temple its name, Monkey Temple. You will then be driven to Patan Darbar Square. Built in the 3rd century, the square is framed by four stupas.

After lunch you will go visit the Pasupatinath Temple. Pashupatinath Temple is the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world, lies 5 km east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga, or phallic symbol,of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate the temple’s existence prior to 400 AD. Devotees can be seen taking ritual dips in the holy Bagmati River flowing beside the temple. Then go to the Boudhanath which called as Little Tibet. Boudha is among the largest Stupas in south Asia. It has become the focal point of Buddhism in Nepal. The white mound looms thirty–six meters overhead. The Stupa is located on the ancient trade route to China. Tibetan merchants rested and offered prayers here.

Day 9Kathmandu/Departure

On this day you will be free until your local guide meets you and you are driven for the airport for your flight to your next destination.

Transportation & Private Transfers:

Transportation cost covers all the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax, train tickets between the cities as the itinerary specified.

 

Transfer between airports, railway station, hotels and scenic spots for sightseeing around the cities that are specified by the itinerary with private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.

 

Entrance Fees:

All entrance fees to the scenic spots listed in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by private tour guides depends on the real-time local circumstances wheather are beyond the control of Access China Travel. We will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible. 

 

Normal Meals:

All normal meals as the itinerary specified: B = breakfast, L = Lunch, D = dinner in local  restaurant. Breakfasts are served in hotel, breakfasts have Chinese or Western style for your option; Lunches are served in carefully selected quality local Chinese restaurants with best service, your lunches will be ordered by your guide catering to your preferences within normal standard. Dinners as the itinerary specified will be also served in local Chinese restaurants. The meal quotation is normalized. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, famous rare dishes, Indian food or more, please inform us in advance. For the unspecified dinners, you will have dinner on your own. Feel free to ask your local guide for suggestions or recommendation.

 

Private Sightseeing Escort:

Normal sightseeing activities as the itinerary listed will be escorted with English-speaking guide. The English-speaking guide and driver in each city are with you throughout the entire itinerary around that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.

 

Hotel Accommodation:

Hotel service criterion: two adults share on one standard twin/double-bed room; solo traveler who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room assigned is required for extra single supplement rate. A single room is available on prior request at an additional cost; if a recommended hotel unavailable, it will be replaced by one of the same class. All hotels as the itinerary listed serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
