After breakfast in your hotel, you will be driven to visit the Tiananmen Square in Beijing, one of the world's largest square. Then you will proceed to visit the incredible Forbidden City, home to China’s Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, you will take on a rickshaw ride through the ancient lanes and alleyways of Beijing’s Hutongs.

Sites Visited: The Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven

After breakfast, you will be driven to the exquisite Summer Palace, where you will marvel at the opulence of this imperial summer gateway. You will then be driven to visit the magnificent Temple of Heaven, which was where China’s Emperors prayed to heaven. After dinner, you will enjoy the amazing Acrobatics Show at night.

Sites Visited: Ding Tomb, Badaling Great Wall

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will meet you and transfer to visit the majestic Great Wall (Badaling Section including the cable car up and down). After lunch next to the Great Wall , proceed to visit the Sacred Road, the road leading to the tombs of the Ming Dynasty’s Emperors. You will then visit the Ding Tomb, the only excavated imperial Ming Dynasty Tomb. In the evening you will be taken to enjoy a Beijing Duck Banquet at the oldest and most famous Peking Duck restaurant in China.

Sites Visited: Yungang Grottoes

After breakfast, take the morning flight to Datong city of Shanxi Province. you will visit the Nine-Dragon Screen. The vivid dragons would get you closer to the concept that Chinese guys take the dragon as the symbol of the highest power and grandeur. The most attractive comes at last. Yungang Caves will feast your eyes with 252 grottoes and over 51,000 Buddhist statues. During the 2 hours, just enjoy yourself in the sea of Buddha sculptures and grottoes.

Day 6Datong/Pingyao via Taiyuan

Sites Visited: Hanging Monastery

After breakfast, on the way to Pingyao, you will visit the Hanging Temple, one of China's most remarkable feats of architecture and can date back to 1400 years ago. All the buildings in the temple are hung on the crag at the slope of Mt. Hengshan. You will go to Pingyao by car via Taiyuan city. Arrive Taiyuan, you will visit the Shanxi Province Museum. Then proceed to Pingyao. Free time for the rest of the day, and you can have a good rest at hotel or hang out on your own. Overnight in local hotel in Pingyao.

Sites Visited: Pingyao Ancient City Wall

After breakfast, you have a full day to explore the world heritage - Pingyao Ancient City. Pingyao is a perfect place for you to understand the life of Ancient Chinese. Its Ancient City Wall still holds its position, protecting people and buildings inside from metropolis lure. The feudal Ancient Government Office of Pingyao deserves your visiting, which stands in sharp contrast with the representative modern bank company of China, Rishengchang Exchange Shop. You'll also find the prosperous Mingqing Street. It was once reputed as the "Wall Street of China", gathering headquarters of over 20 exchange companies. Today it is home to the biggest antique market in the province. Besides souvenirs, you can enjoy sampling some of the local snacks offered there including noodles, specially seasoned beef, as well as tasty Wantuo. Moreover, the preserved Ancient Security Guard Company (Biaoju in Chinese) building serves as a museum now to offer an eye-opening insight into the significant role played by armed escorts in promoting commerce. Then free time for you to walk around Pingyao, and overnight at local hotel in Pingyao.

Continue to visit the Pingyao Ancient Town for a day tour to visit Shuanglin Temple and Wang Mansion. After dinner, take the night bullet train to Xian. On arrival, pick up and transfer to your hotel in Xi'an.

Sites Visited: Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses , Ancient City Wall

In the morning, you will inspect the incredible Terracotta Warriors. These terra soldiers and horses were sculpted like the real Qin Dynasty legions from 2,200 years ago; when discovered they shocked the world with the overwhelming scale and exceptional sculpture skills. Like a living army, they stand in battle formation ready to fight any invaders. In the afternoon, you will take a bike tour along the top of the Ancient City Walls. After dinner, you will enjoy the Tang Dynasty Dancing Show: Originated in China’s Tang Dynasty over a thousand years ago, is one of the most attractive entertainment activities for tourists to Xi'an. It has been recreated in accordance with various historical records as well as ancient art and relics discovered in Xian, the capital of the empire during the Tang Dynasty.

Sites Visited: Xi'an Muslim Street , Ancient Drum Tower, Shaanxi Provincial Museum, Ancient Bell Tower

After hotel breakfast, you will visit the Drum and Bell Tower and the Shaanxi Historical Museum to know the history of Xian. Then proceed to visit the Muslim Quarter- Muslim merchants poured in and settled down to start their business from Tang Dynasty. To better practice their faith and life, the Muslim community grew up around the market and mosque and then nurtured the special Muslim Quarter. The strong race togetherness has enabled Muslim Quarter to survive the dynasty changes and the revolution rock and thrive with well-preserved traditions that are noticeable in the Muslim women in full dress or headscarf, strict food customs, prayer mass at mosque, etc. Then take the high-speed train to Luoyang Longmen Station. On arrival, guide will meet you and transfer to your hotel.

Sites Visited: White Horse Temple, Longmen Grottoes

Today you will visit the Longmen Grottoes, one of the four great grottoes in China. Starting to bulid in Northern Wei Dynasty, the construction has 2,345 caves with 2,680 statues, over 70 stupas and 2,680 inscribed stone tablets. In the afternoon, you are arranged to view the White Horse Temple honored as the 'Founder's Home' and the 'Cradle of Buddhism in China'. Have a free walk on the old city street in Luoyang.

Sites Visited: Shaolin Temple

Take 1.5 hours morning drive to Shaolin Temple reputed as cradle of Chinese Kung Fu. Listed as a UNESCO's World Cultural & Natural Heritage in 2010, The temple is the home of the Chinese Zen Buddhism. After lunch, take 1.5 hours flight in the late afternoon from Zhengzhou to Shanghai. Upon arrival in Shanghai, you will be picked up to the hotel for a good evening.

Sites Visited: Yuyuan Garden , The Bund Shanghai, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Nanjing Road, Jade Buddha Temple

After breakfast at the hotel, you will pay a visit to Oriental Pearl TV Tower with a best view of Shanghai skyline by Huangpu River. Proceed to the 400-year Yu Garden featured by traditional architectural style of Yangtze Delta. Then, have a free walk on the nearby Old Street and transfer to visit the Jade Buddha Temple. Free at leisure on the Bund and Nanjing Road.

Price Includes:

Transportation & Private Transfers:

Transportation cost covers all the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax, train tickets between the cities as the itinerary specified.

 

Transfer between airports, railway station, hotels and scenic spots for sightseeing around the cities that are specified by the itinerary with private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.

 

Entrance Fees:

All entrance fees to the scenic spots listed in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by private tour guides depends on the real-time local circumstances wheather are beyond the control of Access China Travel. We will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible. 

 

Normal Meals:

All normal meals as the itinerary specified: B = breakfast, L = Lunch, D = dinner in local  restaurant. Breakfasts are served in hotel, breakfasts have Chinese or Western style for your option; Lunches are served in carefully selected quality local Chinese restaurants with best service, your lunches will be ordered by your guide catering to your preferences within normal standard. Dinners as the itinerary specified will be also served in local Chinese restaurants. The meal quotation is normalized. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, famous rare dishes, Indian food or more, please inform us in advance. For the unspecified dinners, you will have dinner on your own. Feel free to ask your local guide for suggestions or recommendation.

 

Private Sightseeing Escort:

Normal sightseeing activities as the itinerary listed will be escorted with English-speaking guide. The English-speaking guide and driver in each city are with you throughout the entire itinerary around that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.

 

Hotel Accommodation:

Hotel service criterion: two adults share on one standard twin/double-bed room; solo traveler who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room assigned is required for extra single supplement rate. A single room is available on prior request at an additional cost; if a recommended hotel unavailable, it will be replaced by one of the same class. All hotels as the itinerary listed serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
