Day 1Arrival in Beijing

Upon arrival in Beijing, our guide will meet you at the airport. A private transfer will take you to the hotel for short relax, and then take a leisure walk around the hotel nearby.

Day 2Beijing

Sites Visited: The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Beijing Hutongs

Your today tour starts with a morning strolling across the world's grandest city central square, Tiananmen Square, witnessed many historical events and significant celebrations through over 500 years. Then you will enter from its south gate to the Forbidden City, the world's largest palace complex where the emperors and his family had once worked and lived.

Go on a visit to Beijing Hutongs - the old lanes and courtyard houses. Take a rickshaw or bike to explore Beijing's charming lanes. The visit to a local family, who've lived in the Hutongs for generations, offers a local perspective of history, and is a highlight of the Hutongs for most.

Options: Peking Opera for night show and Beijing Roast Duck for dinner.


The Forbidden City

Day 3Beijing

Sites Visited: The Sacred Road, Mutianyu Great Wall

After breakfast, you will pay a morning visit to the world's greatest man-made projects, the Great Wall at Mutianyu section, set up as a military fortification more than 2,000 years ago. Then vist the Sacred Road of Ming Tomb, ancient emperor's mausoleum group of the Ming Dynasty.

On the way back to Beijing downtown, you will have a stop for an outside look of two famous Olimpic site: Bird Nest (National Stadium) and Water Cube (National Aquatics Center).

Day 4Beijing/Xi'an

Sites Visited: Temple of Heaven

After breakfast you will pay a morning visit to Temple of Heaven, once a site where the emperors offered sacrifices to the heaven, it is even larger than the Forbidden City. Its main buildings progressing from south to north are the Circular Mound Altar, the Imperial Vault of Heaven and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest.

After lunch you will be driven to train station for the bullet train to Xian (5 hours), another of China's ancient capitals. Upon arrival in Xian, your local guide will meet you and escort you to the hotel for rest.


Temple of Heaven

Day 5Xi'an

Sites Visited: Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses , Big Wild Goose Pagoda

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors. Go to visit the Daqin terra-cotta making factory see all kinds of models of Terracotta Warriors. After lunch you will be driven to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, where Housed in a huge temple complex, the ancient pagoda was built to house Buddhist Sutras brought to China from India.

Option: In the evening you may choose to enjoy an amazing Tang Dynasty Show, which bring the pageantry and music of the ancient Tang Dynasty to life.


Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses

Day 6Xian/Guilin

Sites Visited: Xi'an Muslim Street , Ancient City Wall

After breakfast, your guide will meet you and you will be driven for a morning visit to the Shaanxi History Museum to discover Xian amazing history. After that you will go on a visit the Ancient City Wall for a walk or take a bicycle ride along the top of Xian Ancient City Wall to get a bird's eye view of this amazing ancient city. Then visit Xi'an Muslim Street for a relax.

In the late afternoon you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Upon your arrival in Guilin, your guide will meet you and escort you to check in hotel for a rest.

Day 7Guilin/Yangshuo

Sites Visited: Yangshuo West Street, Li River Cruise

After breakfast at the hotel, our guide and driver will transfer you to the pier to board the ship for Li River cruise (4 hours) from Guilin to Yangshuo. It is one of the great waterways to admire the picturesque scenery along the river sides. Upon arrival at Yangshuo, you will have a stroll along the famous West Street. This is a vibrant place alive with cafes, pubs, restaurants and where many westerners gather.

Tips: Today we kindly suggest you have a larger breakfast at the hotel this morning as the lunch provided on the cruise is less than adequate. The cruise arrives at terminal Yangshuo at around 13:30 to 14:30 according to the different water flows. There are many cafes available in Yangshuo.

Optional activites for late afternoon:
1. Attend a Chinese cooking course in a cooking school
2. Learn Taiji for 1-2 hours.
3. Li River Beer Fish is recommended for dinner.
4. Night show options : Commorants Fishing or Impression Liu Sanjie

A cruise along the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo is an unforgettable experience for stunning scenery. In Yangshuao, there's something interesting such as lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river, fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and if you're very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants.

Impressions of Liusanjie performance. The Performance, directed by Zhang Yimou, China's premiere movie director and director of the Beijing Olympics' Opening Ceremony, is made up of hundreds of people and is performed on the Li River with the mountains as the backdrop. It is an unforgettable experience.


Yangshuo West Street

Day 8Yangshuo/Guilin

Sites Visited: Reed Flute Cave

There are three options for morning enjoyment: a countryside biking, a bamboo rafting on the Yulong River and a helicopter tour over Yangshuo.

Then back to Guilin city for a visit to the Reed Flute Cave. The cave's many bizarre stalagmites and stalactites make visitors feel like they have stepped into another world. Then visit the Reed Flute Cave. Today's tour will end with a relax walk around the Dongxi Alley.

After breakfast, you will take a morning flight from Guilin to Chongqing. Upon arrival, you will be transfered to Three Gorges Museum and then be picked up to board your river cruise vessel and meet your crew at a welcome reception.

Day 10Yangtze Cruise

Sites Visited: Shibaozhai Temple, Fengdu Ghost City

Today's shore excursion will be to Fengdu Ghost City or Shibaozhai Village (denpends on the ship).

Sites Visited: Lesser Three Gorges, Shennong Stream

Today's Yangtze River sightseeing will be highlighted by a shore excursion to Lesser Three Gorges. Take a sampan to go thru the beautiful narrow gorges of Shennong Stream (where is ideal for a sampan-pulling performance), then deep intothe fabulous gorges. Deep gorges, green mountains, crystal waters, appalling cliffs, thriving groves and perhaps native wildlife make this excursion worthwhile.


Lesser Three Gorges

Day 12Yichang/Shanghai

Sites Visited: Three Gorges Dam

The Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydroelectric complex. Smartly mingled with local natural landscape, the dam can boast as the newest world-class scenic spot on the river. Disembark in Yichang around 11:30am, meet the local guide and take the afternoon flight from Yichang to Shanghai. You meet the local guide and are escorted to your hotel.

Sites Visited: Yuyuan Garden , The Bund Shanghai, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Jinmao Tower

After breakfast, you will start a full day tour in Shanghai to visit the Shanghai Museum, Town God's Temple, Shikumen, Old Concession Area. Then you will have a bird view of Shanghai city on the top of Jinmao Tower and enjoy coastal sight at the Bund of Shanghai.

Afer breakfast, you will take a morning relax until a transfer to at the Shanghai Pudong Airport for the flight to next destination.

Transportation & Private Transfers:

Transportation cost covers all the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax, train tickets between the cities as the itinerary specified.

 

Transfer between airports, railway station, hotels and scenic spots for sightseeing around the cities that are specified by the itinerary with private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.

 

Entrance Fees:

All entrance fees to the scenic spots listed in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by private tour guides depends on the real-time local circumstances wheather are beyond the control of Access China Travel. Normal Meals:

All normal meals as the itinerary specified: B = breakfast, L = Lunch, D = dinner in local  restaurant. Breakfasts are served in hotel, breakfasts have Chinese or Western style for your option; Lunches are served in carefully selected quality local Chinese restaurants with best service, your lunches will be ordered by your guide catering to your preferences within normal standard. Dinners as the itinerary specified will be also served in local Chinese restaurants. The meal quotation is normalized. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, famous rare dishes, Indian food or more, please inform us in advance. For the unspecified dinners, you will have dinner on your own. Private Sightseeing Escort:

Normal sightseeing activities as the itinerary listed will be escorted with English-speaking guide. The English-speaking guide and driver in each city are with you throughout the entire itinerary around that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.

Hotel service criterion: two adults share on one standard twin/double-bed room; solo traveler who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room assigned is required for extra single supplement rate. A single room is available on prior request at an additional cost; if a recommended hotel unavailable, it will be replaced by one of the same class.
