Day 1Arrival in Beijing by flight or train

Upon your arrival at Beijing airport or train station, your local guide will meet you and escort you to check in your hotel. In the late afternoon, Then pay a visit to Beijing Hutongs for a rickshaw ride.

Note: a rickshaw ride of about 30 minutes is good, and Hutong tour lasts 1-2 hours. By the way, you can enjoy a dinner at the local restaurant there as a choice for yourselves.

Day 2Beijing

Sites Visited: Mutianyu Great Wall

Half day morning excursion to the Mutianyu Great Wall (2 hours), the most beautiful section of the all 5 sections of the Great Wall in Beijing. The hike takes about 2-3 hours. Head back to the downtown Beijing.

After lunch, continue to visit Changling (1.5 hours), one of the 13 Ming Tombs of the 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty ( 1368 - 1644). Back to the downtown hotel in Beijing.

Note: At Mutianyu Great Wall, the cable car up and sliding down you can choose and pay by yourselves there. Dinner Option: Restaurant Quanjude or Pianyifang for Beijing Duck, you can pay Beijing Duck meal yourselves at the restaurant.

Day 3Beijing

Sites Visited: The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven

After breakfast at your hotel, start your tour with the visit to Tiananmen Square (40 minutes), the largest public square in the world. Then move on to the Forbidden City (2 hours), the Chinese imperial palace from the mid-Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty.

After lunch, visit the Temple of Heaven (2 hours), the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest.

Day 4Beijing

Sites Visited: The Summer Palace

After breakfast, start your morning tour with the visit to the Summer Palace (2 hours), originally a royal garden and a temporary dwelling palace for emperors of Qing Dynasty.

To avoid the tourist meal, today you have a la carte lunch with an a la carte menu at a nice local Cantonese restaurant, where you could enjoy the authentic Chinese food.

After lunch, head to the Olympic Green ( 1 hour ) to have an outside look at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Then go to Capital Museum Beijing (1.5 hours), a five-storey building allowing for a maximum of 13 concurrent exhibitions, English and Japanese services are available. After the day tour, back to your hotel in Beijing.


The Summer Palace

Day 5Beijing/Hailar by flight

Picked up from your hotel in Beijing and take flight from Beijing to Hailar - the seat of Hulunbuir City. Arriving at the Hailar Dongshan Airport, met by our English speaking tour guide and head to your designated hotel in Hailar. You are at your leisure to explore the Hailar District of Hulunbuir.

Day 6Hailar/Erguna City

After breakfast, first visit Hulunbuir Nationality Museum. The museum is located in Hailaer District of Hulunbuir with over 10,000 relics and artifacts on display. You will learn about the roots of the ethnic groups in Hunlunbeier and their histories, religions, economy and cultures. It also shows the history and developement in the whole area of Hulunbuir.

Then head to the heartland of Hulunbuir Grassland. On the route, you are immersed in the blue sky and white clounds though the grassland. Arriving at Golden Horde Mongolian Tribe that is the only nomadic tribe open to the tourists, a reproduction of the camping tents in Genghis Khan's time. It is located in the heartland of Hulunbuir Grassland, on the banks of Moergele River that is hailed as China's first Qushui (River bends).

You will participate in the sacrificing of Aobao, the most common and grand sacrificial activity of the Mongolians. Self-served mutton will be served for your Mongloian type of lunch. After lunch, take a walk along the strking Moergele River that boasts the most beautiful river bends in China. Horseback riding and the performances ( wrestling and horse racing) are optional.

Then drive to the hometown of Genghis Khan - Ergun City. Ergun City is located on the northen part of Hulunbuir Grassland and on the right bank of Erguna River with an area of 28,400 km2. It was the hometown of Genghis Khan (1162-1227), who here united all the tribes and started to conquer most of Asia and Eastern Europe.

After dinner, stay overnight in a hotel in Erguna

Day 7Erguna/Manzhouli

After breakfast, head to Erguna Wetland. Erguna Wetland has an area of 200,000 hectare, the largest wetland in Asia, about 3km to the west of Ergun City. Erguna Wetland is scattered around the forest and the grassland with many types including marshes, shrub swamps, swamp forest, open bogs and moss. Erguna Wetland is on the plain delta formed by Erguna River and other three alpine rivers including Genhe River, Deerbugan River and Hawuer River.

Lunch will be arranged at Heishantou. Then drive all the way to Manzhouli. Manzhouli City is adjacent to Russia in the north, about 192km to the west of Hailaier. Manzhouli Port is the largest land port along the border in China. Manzhouli is a port city of comprising the folk customs of the three countries including China, Russia and Mongolia, a blend of Chinese and Western cultures. The City is teeming with unique buildings of Russian, Monglian and Chinese styles.

After Chinese-Russian dinner, stay overnight in a hotel at Manzhouli.

Day 8Manzhouli/Hulun Lake/Hailar

After breakfast, drive to Taowa Square, a huge matryoshka doll square. The Matryoshka Doll Square is the iconic attraction in Manzhouli that comprises the characteristics and features from the three bordering countries - China, Russia and Mongolia. The main building is a 30m high Russian nested doll with an area of 3,200 square meters, the largest in the world hitting the guinness wordl record.

Then head to Hulun Lake. Located in the western of Hulunbeir Prairie, Hulun Lake is the 5th largest fresh water lake in China and the largest lake in the Inner Mongolia, covering approximately 2,339 km2. Hulun Lake is teeming with cash fish such as carp, crucian carp and also rare white shrimp. The lake is a mecca for 241 bird species, including crane, gull, swan, one of the few treasure houses of birds in the world. Hulun Lake is an ideal summer resort due to cool climate, beautiful scenery and fresh air in summer.

You will enjoy an all-fish feast for your lunch. After lunch, appreciate the massive granssland lake. Boating on the lake is optional.

Back to the city of Hailar and visit Dahl Jilin Temple. The Tibetan buddhist temple is located on the mountain in the northen urban area of Hailaer District of Hulunbuir City. The temple comprises 5 main halls, 6 side halls, living rooms for monks, mansions for living buddhas, buildings for institutions and more.

At the end of the travel service, you are transferred to Hailar Dongshan Airport and take late afternoon flight back to Beijing. Met and returned to your hotel in Beijing.
