Beijing Palace Museum Artifacts Go Digital in China

The Palace Museum has created an app for iPhone users to see pictures, expert introductions and the histories of the more than 400 ceramic artifacts in the Palace Museum, reported the China Culture Daily.

Tourists can download the app at the Palace Museum Ceramics Exhibition Hall and scan the two-dimensional code on the artifacts' display cases for visuals and audio.

The Palace Museum has more than 1.8 million artifacts, and 350,000 are ceramics, the largest category among all the artifacts. The app introduces the artifacts in chronological order. Eight of the artifacts are able to revolve 360 degrees for visitors to further appreciate.
