Spring Festival Winter Activities Peak in Beijing's Parks

As winter vacation nears,Beijing's parks have witnessed an upsurge of winter activities. Six parks, including the Summer Palace, Yuyuantan Park, Taoranting Park, Beihai Park, Black Bamboo Park and Beijing Botanical Garden, jointly held a “Snow Party” with more than 100 snow and ice activities,according to the Beijing Municipal Administration Center of Parks.

The parks have eleven winter sports venues, including -frozen ponds, artificial ski resorts and ice stadiums, are distributed in the six parks, with a total area of more than one million square meters, which can meet the different needs of citizens. The parks also organized various public welfare activities, such as fun races and promotions for the Winter Olympics.If visitors or citizens want to know more about such activities, they can head to any parks or tourist centers to get a greeting card of the snow party. There are 10,000 cards in total.

Every park has raised its safety management of winter activities. Ice thickness is measured twice a day, and full-time staffs conduct all-weather patrol inspections.
