The Peony Culture Festival of Luoyang China 2014

The China Luoyang Peony Culture Festival 2014 (CLPCF)will be held on 9 - 13 April this year. Since 1982, Starting from 1982, Luoyang holds the grand peony festival between April and May every year.

Luoyang Peony is regarded as the "finest flower under heaven", work as the city flower of Luoyang, also the national flower of China. Luoyang has been known as the land of peony since Tang Dynasty and now Luoyang grows over 500,000 peonies which fall into over 350 species. "Yaohuang" and "Weizi"peonies are named as the "king" and "queen" of peonies.

The venue of Luoyang Peony Festival is Luoyang National Peony Garden, an area is planted with over 400 peony carietites. Each year from Mid April to mid May,the garden is awash with colorful flowers mostly reds mixed with whites, yellows and purples – set against a background of thick, vibrant, dark green leaves, like a myriad of precious stones set in bright, shiny rings.

As to the Luoyang Peony Cultural Festival, it is a comprehensive tourism festivial hosted by Culture Ministry of China and the Provincial Government of Henan Municipality. Besides the culture of Peony programs, there are many interesting activies including folk custom and entertainments.

During the festivals, tourists can go these places to enjoy peonies in Luoyang: Shengzhou Peony Park, Wangcheng Park, China National Flowers'Park, Botanical Garden on the Sui and Tang Ruins, National Peony Garden, International Peony Garden, Luoyang Peony Garden, Luoyang National Flower Garden, Tulip Garden, Xiyuan Park (including the Peony Lantern Fair), and Peony Park etc.
