Suzhou tourism events in spring and summer

Suzhou Tourism Administration in Jiangsu province plans to promote local spring tourism by holding several tourism events.

Zhangjiagang

A series of tourism festivals will be held in Zhangjiagang during March and May, including a peach blossom festival, food festival, rape flower festival and barbecue festival.

Tourists will be treated to the sight of peach blossoms, traditional folk songs, fluttering cherry blossoms and various tourism events during the festivals.

Abundant aquatic products from the Yangtze River are a key attraction of Yonglian tourism, with Yonglian village holding its annual food festival from April to May, inviting visitors to taste the aquatic products.

Changshu

The Suzhou International Kite Festival will kick off at Shajiabang scenic spot from March 15 to May 31. The festival includes an opening ceremony, kite making and flying events and a creative kite exhibition.

Shanghu Lake will display various peonies during March 25 to May 5 and host a tea festival during the Labor Day holidays.

In mid June, there will be a variety of folk performances and a bonsai exhibition in Yushan.

A camellia exhibition will be shown in Fangta Park in March. From April to May, Jiangxiang village will hold a rape flower festival featuring vast rape flower fields, countryside foods and agriculture tours.

Taicang

Taicang aims to boost its spring tourism by holding an aquatic-products-tasting activity, along with a Chinese rose show in the Modern Agricultural Zone.

Meanwhile, Jincang Lake Park will offer a kite festival and a dragon boat race in June.

Kunshan

The 2014 Kunshan International Culture and Tourism Festival will open in April. Visitors will be able to relax in Zhouzhuang, an ecological water town.

Kunshan will also hold a series of artistic events in May, including painting, photography and stamp exhibitions, as well as artistic performances. (source:chinadaily.cn)
