Mingshi Pastoral

Situated in Daxin County, Chongzuo, Guangxi, Mingshi Pastoral lies not far from Detian Transnational Waterfall. Praised as a hidden pastoral fairyland on the Sino-Vietnamese border, it features classic karst scenery, known as the “Little Guilin of Chongzuo”. Towering limestone peaks stand amid vast rice paddies, while the crystal-clear Mingshi River winds gently through villages, bamboo forests and farmlands, forming a vivid Chinese ink-wash landscape.
The most popular activity is bamboo raft drifting. Poled by local boatmen, rafts glide quietly on the water. Visitors can admire reflected mountains, rustic farmhouses and water buffalo wandering along riverbanks. Cycling along country lanes is another wonderful choice to enjoy the slow rural vibe. As the shooting location of the famous drama The Journey of Flower, it attracts numerous photography lovers.
The scenic area also preserves Zhuang ethnic customs. Away from noisy crowds, it maintains pure tranquility. If you plan to visit Detian Waterfall, combine your trip with Mingshi Pastoral. It is an ideal spot to appreciate peaceful karst countryside and experience authentic frontier rural charm in Guangxi.
