Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, nestled in Leishan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou, is the world’s largest Miao settlement and a national 4A-level scenic area. With a history of over 2,000 years, it comprises more than ten natural villages, home to over 6,000 Miao people.
The village is surrounded by mountains, with the Baishui River winding through it. Over 1,400 wooden stilted houses cascade down the hillside, forming a spectacular layered skyline. As night falls, thousands of lights twinkle like stars, earning it the title “China’s Most Beautiful Miao Village”.
A living museum of Miao culture, it preserves intangible heritage such as silver forging, batik, and folk songs. Visitors can enjoy long-table banquets, folk performances, and explore the Miao Museum. It’s an ideal destination to experience authentic Miao traditions and stunning mountain scenery.
